Dear Delegates and Advisors,
Welcome to the eleventh annual Seahawk Model United Nations Conference, hosted by Cape Coral High School, on January 13th and 14th, 2017. I am proud to have the pleasure of working with all of you to provide an exceptional conference experience to all delegates, whether it is their first conference or their twentieth.
Every year at SMUNC, the Secretariat establishes a theme that all four committees follow. This year, the Secretariat has chosen security as the theme, which includes economic security, protection of individuals’ rights, and conflict resolution. As Secretary General, I will be continuing the SMUNC tradition of raising money throughout the conference for an NGO that works towards the goal of our theme.
Registration will once again be completed electronically, with the deadline on December 14th. Additional information is available on this website, including a guide to parliamentary procedure and conference expectations located under the tab labeled “About.”
As always at SMUNC, we aim to foster the essential skills of a Model UN delegate: diplomacy, public speaking, and collaboration. Moreover, we value to the fullest extent thorough research and thoughtful planning, both of which elevate debate and allow for the creation of effective solutions for the multi-faceted issues presented.
If you have any questions, concerns, or feedback, feel free to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org. I hope to see returning and new delegations at SMUNC 2017!
Secretary General, Seahawk Model United Nations XI
